Jozef Kesecioglu is Professor of Intensive Care Medicine at the Department of Intensive Care Medicine, University Medical Center, Utrecht, the Netherlands.

Professor Kesecioglu has worked in the Executive Committee of ESICM as the Chair of the Division of Scientific Affairs. In 2016, he is has become the President Elect of ESICM. He has been the President of ESICM between 2018-2020. He was awarded with ESICM Society Medal in 2022.

His main interests are ethics, intensive care environment and selective decontamination of the digestive tract.
